Control panels
A control panel is a set of modules you turn on and off together, each with the settings it should have for one job. One key (or the switch in its title bar) turns them all on, set up the way you saved them. Turning it off turns them back off and gives you your own settings back.
Some ideas:
- Highway: Elytra Fly flying Recast, Elytra Swap keeping the elytra, Auto Eat.
- Base building: Scaffold, Air Place, Auto Tool, with a slower Scaffold than you normally use.
- Mining trip: Packet Mine, Auto Tool, Storage at a short range.
Make one
Create it
In the launcher, type a name and pick New control panel: …. Or open the Control Panels window and use the field at the bottom.
Add modules
Its window opens. Open its Settings section and pick the modules under Modules.
Save settings for it (optional)
Each module is listed as a card. Unfold one and change its settings the way this panel should have them, then press Save. A badge on the card shows how many settings it saves. Clear forgets them.
Give it a key
In Settings, set a Keybind. Turn on Hold to have it on only while you hold the key.
What happens when it’s on
- Each of its modules turns on.
- The settings it saved lie over the module’s own. Your own settings aren’t changed: they’re still there underneath. In the module’s settings, the panel’s values show with the panel’s name in a tag.
- If you change one of those settings while the panel is on, you’re changing the panel’s value, not yours.
- Turning the panel off turns off only the modules it turned on (one that was already on stays on), and the panel’s settings come off, so your own show again.
So you can try a setup without losing yours. See Setting layers for how this works.
Ready-made panels
Addons can come with control panels. Essentials has Highway and Cruise. You can change them like your own; Reset in a panel’s settings brings back the addon’s version, and a deleted one comes back with the button in the Control Panels window’s title bar.
